Tonight I was informed by my landlord that she will be moving her sister into my apartment (within the next week) because this is the only space that she can think of to put her. But not too long ago the sister resided in the basement; moved and now is returning. The problem is that my apartment is a two bedroom so that means that the landlord and her husband plan to put a partition up in the living room to make a third bedroom for their sister. Both my current roommate and I are perplexed because the basement apt is available but "has a machine that makes bullets; because my husband is making bullets she cannot stay in the basement." What if any steps can I take without a lease? (three family private home with four or five apt its a mess)
