yeah, this is weird. it's not unusual for LL's to move tenants out to install relatives (done correctly, it is their right to do so). but it sounds like the LL wants to move this sister *into* your apartment *without* making you and your roommate move out. is this the deal? you will have 3 people stuffed into a 2 br apt? do you know the sister or something? i don't even want to ask about the 'bullet machine in the basement'!

if this is happening against your will, even if you do not have a lease, the LL should give you at least a month's notice. and it should be an entire changeover, not just adding another person to your apartment. if your LL goers thru with this, it sets a spooky precendent about what LL's think they can do to tenants. where will grandma stay when she comes to visit?? :)
