MY home condemded, I need help

Posted by Phyllis J. Pagona on October 31, 2001 at 23:19:07:

I moved into my double wide moble home on Aug. 3, 2001. I pay 700.00 and have a lease.

My problem is my landlady rented me this place knowing full well it was not fit to live in. I discovered this within the first week here. I didn't have the money to move, so I tried to get my landlady to make repairs. She refused.

Now my home has been condemded by Code Enforcement. I have to move by the 18th of this month. It isn't fair to have this happen. I put more than 600.00 into this home, not counting my labor. I still do not have the money for new deposits, phone transfer, etc.

How can I make my landlady pay for this? She knew how bad things were here and she covered it up. Code Enforcement states there is no way she did not know about the damage. She rented it to me anyway.

Please help.
