Got a rental nightmare you want to get off your chest?

I am a published author, presently compiling a book of renter's horror stories. I am looking for funny stories of rental hell. As long as they are clever and well-written, these essays can be about:

-crazy neighbors
-leaky pipes
-annoying roommates
-noise complaints
-negligent landlords
-rodent problems
-apartment rentals
-house rentals
-long-term/short-term leases
-suburban rentals
-city rentals
-NY or non-NY rentals
-Any kind of rental sob story will do, but funny ones get preferential treatment.

The stories can run anywhere from 300 to 2000 words. No poetry will be considered.
