Best option in fighting a rent overcharge case.

Hi,

I am sure you have all ready the article on the homepage entitled, " Complaining about a rent overcharge in New York City " By Kenneth B. Hawco, Esq.

My question is, which do you think is the best. I tried to counter with this in my non-payment case and the Judge wouldnt even look at it. She denied it and referred it to the DHCR. I paid the amount of $4125 due ( Some of you have read my case ) and now I am ready to fight the rent overcharge.

I am thinking about the Civil Court option, but I think it's worth asking here in the open forum.

Regards,

Jose C.
