Away when all hell breaks loose

Postby Concourse » Fri Aug 20, 2004 11:21 am

I posted a while back about my need for a lawyer on a preferential rent issue. I will be seeing one in few weeks, but meanwhile I have a question that concerns me and I was thinking that maybe somebody would be able to address it.

I have a long planned trip out of the country that is going to consume the entire month that will be the first month of the new lease. As I said, I intend to have a lawyer represent me if anything needs to be done. However, will my not being there throw a monkeywrench into the whole situation? I have these images in my mind of coming back to find my stuff out in the street, or losing because I wasn't available to testify in a court proceding.

Anyway, I tend to worry about nothing but I was hoping maybe somebody out there with knowledge of court procedures could set my mind at rest. Thank you.

PS, Still would like to talk to lawyers experienced on this, so anyone with names should please communicate them to me.
