The LL is telling new tenants the building is not rent stabilized, and is not offering them stabilized leases. Their rents are less than $2,000 a month. The LL is registering the rent as over $2,000 per month on those apts.
Is it legal to destabilized an apt. for which $2,000 a month rent has never been charged?
Do apts. destabilize when the rent charged (pref.) rent reaches $2,000--or when the Legal Regulated rent reaches $2,000?
