Our client has an apartment in a coop in a R8B zoned district.
They have an outside space which is now a garden.
There is a wall separating this space from the FDR Drive, or actually a park, then there's the drive . The garden has street access on the side as well.
They would like to build a "conservatory" or greenhouse addition to their apartment.
This would be a structure which would span across the length of the lot behind the building. It would potentially be almost 2 stories high at some points.
I don't know if it matters, but this lot where the conservatory would be built has its own lot number and is taxed separately from the building even though it butts up against the building.
Does anybody know how we could expeditiously find out whether this sort of "extension" is allowed, allowed size vs. lot size, etc., etc.
I truly appreciate any help you can offer me.
