In 80/20 apt. was Told I can't be a Student??

Postby 10Spot » Tue Aug 03, 2004 6:44 pm

Hi,
I live in an 80/20 building and was told by a building manager that I'm not allowed to attend college full time even though my income won't change. They say it is because I'm the only person living in the apartment and that the entire household cannot be attending school full time. This doesn't sound logical or legal to me. Is this true? Please help.

80/20 tenants must satisfy income, primary residence, etc requirements, both to move in and to stay there: what does your lease and /or your 80/20 rule book say about this? If you work fulltime while attending school, this doesn't make sense; if you're only working parttime, it might be legit.

If you don't have those, contact HPD, get a copy.

Take them to a tenant clinic or your councilperson's office if you can't decipher them.
