Happy Tax Day.
It's April 15th. On June 15th the rent regulations expire. The state hasn't gotten the budget done yet (so what else is new?). Pataki, by blocking the commuter tax and other issues, has essentially to the city to drop dead.
Do you think anyone in Albany even cares that the rent laws are expiring? Is Pataki going to care any more about keeping the rent laws going than he'll be about keeping the city solvent.
Doesn't look good.
