Air Quality issues

My landlord is doing a major renovation in the apartment below creating mountains of dust and odors.( I know that lead has been found in the paint of other apartments) I am concerned for, my partners health who suffers from serious chronic conditions. Are there any concessions I can get from the landlord? Rent reduction to facilitate temporary accomodations during rennovation?
