Ever since my heat furnace exploded a few weeks ago, nearly starting a fire, I have gone to the basement to check it out whenever I smelled something strange. But yesterday my landlord changed the locks on the basement and he says that he won't give me the key because I have been tampering with the heater!! (as if the fire was my fault..)Is this a fire hazard? Do I have a right to have a key to that room, even though this is a private building?
