My neighbor is a rent control tenant (or is it stabilized? he's been there since the seventies) living in NYC(Queens to be exact) in a six family tenament. He has had a roommate for about a year now. His lease renewal is coming up he and his roommate are getting along really well, can his roommates name be added to the lease? Will the rent control be no longer eligible? If it makes any difference it's a 4 room apartment.(kitchen bathroom, living room, bedroom and a half room)
