: I have been living without a lease for over a year now. Back in October 1996 my landlord filed for bankrutcy and stopped accepteing rent checks.
: I just got a notice from the bank yesterday taht the apartment will be sold at auction next month. My question is - assuming that the new owner
: wants me to vacate the apartment, how much notice do they have to give me?
: I live in Nassau county (if that makes any difference)

Depends if you are rent regulated, then thay can't. But if not, then 30 days
notice (if no lease), then they can take you to court and you can probably buy
some time.
