how soon can new landlord evict?

Posted by Dean Mayo on February 05, 1998 at 17:07:28:

I have been living without a lease for over a year now. Back in October 1996 my landlord filed for bankrutcy and stopped accepteing rent checks.
I just got a notice from the bank yesterday taht the apartment will be sold at auction next month. My question is - assuming that the new owner
wants me to vacate the apartment, how much notice do they have to give me?
I live in Nassau county (if that makes any difference)
