hi there i am hoping someone out there can give me some sound advice.
recently my landlord entered my apt without notice (which is illegal),
for inspection. i shortly told the superintendent (who is his daughter)
not to do it. She assured me that she will tell her father. Letting it
go at that, i renewed my lease because i have have no complaints up to
than. however since than my landlord has entered my apt three times for
misc. repairs and improvements without giving me any notice. i quickly
approached the super after work the first time. she told me that it is
written in the lease that the landlord has the right access to the
property as they see fit. The lease states "at reasonable times" I
contacted my local rent assocation who assurred me that no lease
superseeds established state laws of 24 hr notice. with that i told my
super the message. today i recieve a notice to increase my rent
due to the fact my girlfriend lives with me. Yes i know he has the
right to increase my rent over this but it has not been a issue for
the nine months she has been living here prior to my complaint. In
short i pissed the guy off. is there any sugguestions for me?
can i get out of the lease in some way besides going to court
what should i do? should i report to the police about his acts of
trespassing?
