I rented the apartment complex Clubhouse for a Halloween Party, put
down a $250.00 cleaning deposit, and signed an agreement that stipulated
numerous cleaning requirements and a $50.00 for carpet cleaning. I was
refused a walk-through the morning after the party and a week later received
notice that they were depositing my entire cleaning deposit for carpet
cleaning and water removal (we had apple bobbing that left a small wet
area). Since then they have admitted to overcharginig us by $90.00 but
will not reduce the amount further, even though the $50.00 fee is legally
binding according to our attorney. In addition, they have misled and
ignored us throughout - and told us that we wouldn't have our $90 for four
to six weeks. Any recourse??
