: I rented the apartment complex Clubhouse for a Halloween Party, put
: down a $250.00 cleaning deposit, and signed an agreement that stipulated
: numerous cleaning requirements and a $50.00 for carpet cleaning. I was
: refused a walk-through the morning after the party and a week later received
: notice that they were depositing my entire cleaning deposit for carpet
: cleaning and water removal (we had apple bobbing that left a small wet
: area). Since then they have admitted to overcharginig us by $90.00 but
: will not reduce the amount further, even though the $50.00 fee is legally
: binding according to our attorney. In addition, they have misled and
: ignored us throughout - and told us that we wouldn't have our $90 for four
: to six weeks. Any recourse??

Small claims court -- this is not really a tenant matter.
Make them prove it, but that they refused a walk-through is a waiver.
