Thanks for the info on this injustice. Although this is not a
tradiional tenant situation, it is still Marty's home. I don't know
without doing some research what the legalities are. The city may still
have to follow the provisions of the Real Property Law and the Real Property
Actions and Proceedings Law. I know there are separate provisions for
mobile home space renters, but I don't know if there are provisions
specific to boat slip rentals. It might be worthwhile getting some
good legal advice as in this case Dept. of Parks is acting as a
landlord. It will also be helpful if interested tenants complain to
Mayor Guiliani and Parks Commissioner Henry Stern directly. Also,
someone ought to contact Ruth Messinger. I'm assuming Ronnie Eldridge of
the city council, Scott Stringer and Franz Leichter have all been
contacted.
