I have had an apartment in Manhattan for the past few years. For the past year I've been living out of state, subletting the place to a friend. Recently we were found out. What are my options? I still pay the rent and bills with my checks. Can the landlord get rid of me and if so what sort of proof does he need and what can I counter with?
