I don't think that this question warrants such a curt response. The person is asking a question, and you don't know what other factors may apply to his situation or his building. Therefore calling him stupid is out of line.

I also think the chain of responses to Chelsea's comment is unnecessarily rude. Mark's anger at someone posting a message "ahead" of his is ridiculous. People know how the message board threads posts, and there are lots of people here with valid points other than Mark Smith.

I'll also say that I think it is totally discourteous and uncalled for to post someone else's real name and employer, as was done in another post. I don't think he would like that if it was done to him without his permission, no matter how the information was divulged. Makes you understand why some people choose anonymity.
