Seeking help with landlord-tenant issue

Postby NYSGuy » Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:15 pm

My landlord is attempting to keep my security deposit because he believes I put an indent of about an inch in the apartment's bathtub which he claims cannot be fixed other than filling it in, which is apparently a problem.

I know I didn't create the indentation, but didn't take any pictures of it when I moved in because I didn't think anything of it. The landlord doesn't have any pictures either and is essentially claiming that the indent is my fault.

I'm just looking for some advice or help, since I may have to go to small claims court in order to get my deposit back.

Whether right or wrong, this is why people don't pay the last month's rent.
