Notice of non payment Petition and 3 day answer

Postby burchb1 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:02 am

I have received my notice of petition and petition and was given 3 days to answer and if in writing i need to submit my answer to the landlord lawyer as well.
My court date is 6/17/09, today is 6/15/09.

I am going to answer the petition today, can the judge dismiss my case and i get evicted on this alone.
I am in upstate Otsego County NY..
I have to appear at the Town Court.
The town court is not open everyday.

Upstate the tenants has no rights, the landlord and the judges make all the decision and the tenant has to follow.
I just want to know if there is any type of NYS Law that state I can still get my say in court even if i answered the petition late. or because it being late , I will be evicted.
