DRIE dates and Lease.

Postby Cylon452 » Mon Apr 30, 2018 9:36 pm

Hi

I been approved for Drie last year. My Benefit period is 08/01/2017 to 7/31/2018. That's One year. The DRIE approval letter also say the Benefit expires on 7/31//2018.
So is this DRIE still in effect on 7/31/2018 ?

My new lease says my existing lease will expire on 7/31/2018 within my Benefit benefit of DRIE. Or does it expire on 8/01/2018 the day after the Benefit period ?

So now i have a new lease ( RTP-8) sent to me on April 24,2018 that says my lease will expire on 7/31/2018 on the the same day as my DRIE expires.
Does this date of 7/31/2018 mean DRIE is still in effect as stated within the Benefit period ?

Now i am in the process of renewing DRIE. But Drie is only going to say my new Benefit period is going to be 8/01/2018 to 7/31/2019. Then i'm back in the same boat next year.

My question is when does the clock stop on 7/31/2018. midnight ?

The RTP -8 form is dated 4/24/2018. Does this count as within the Benefit Period 08/01/2017 to 7/31/2018 ?

On the RTP-8 form number 9 it states.
SCRIE and DRIE. Owner and Tenant acknowledge that, as of the date of this renewal, Tenant is entitled to pay a reduced monthly rent in the amount of $ _______________ under the SCRIE program (where applicable) or the DRIE program (where applicable). The reduced rent may be adjusted by orders of such program.

On my new lease this is blank. I do not see last years rate on my New RTP-8 form. Nothing about DRIE.

Any help would be appreciated. I find this confusing.

The term is pretty obvious. I don't understand why you are asking? It expires when the lease expires. Both expire on the stroke of midnight 7/31/18. What's the problem?

The date of the RTP-8 form is when the lease offer was sent to you by the LL and has nothing to do with the benefit period of DRIE. On the form No. 9 you would put the reduced and frozen rent, not the legal rent.

OK

re:
DRIE
Benefit year 08/01/2017 to 7/31/2018
Expires 7/31/2018

Thanks for the reply. I just got caught up on the wording on the DRIE document.
Drie for says -This benefit expires on 7/31/2018. It would be nice if it said on the stroke of midnight ON 7/31/2018.

On number 9 the LL did not enter the reduced ( Frozen Rent ). The left it blank, maybe they do not know about the stroke of midnight.

I'll inform the LL of course and see if i can clear it up with them on number 9 on the RTP-8.

Thanks for clearing that up for me and have a good day.

Nothing will ever say on the stroke of Midnight. Don't get caught up on that.
