Excessive inspections

Postby Breakingground » Tue Aug 27, 2019 10:45 am

In just a few months of my tenancy, there have been several inspections from various government agencies. I’m posting this to ask if anyone knows any workarounds to combat these kind of invasions into my privacy. I understand that on the day of the inspections, they decide which units they want to inspect. What if I leave my sink full of water in order to soak some clothes that I’m handwashing? Would that possibly deter them (given they wouldn’t have access to the sink per se) and have them pick another unit?

Are you rent regulated (if so, this should then be posted in the Rent Stab section of the forum).

What agencies? How many times? Did you make complaints?

You imply the inspectors show up and somehow pick which units of the building to inspect. is this correct? How do you know this? Do the inspectors show you their badges or other IDs?

Did you consider just not answering the door?
