Supreme Court: File Answer & Request Adjournment?

Postby Sky » Sat Oct 23, 2010 8:46 pm

My LL brought a frivolous Supreme Court case against me seeking to evict me and for damages. It is an Order To Show Cause with Temporary Restraining Order. Every legal service and attorney has let me down and strung me along with assurances that they would assist me.

Now it appears that I am on my own and pro-se. Because I've been expecting legal representation, I have not submitted an answer. The hearing is this coming monday at 9:30 AM. There's a risk I may lose my apartment as the owner seeks immediate termination of my tenancy.

Can anyone (any attorneys lurking) advise on a quick and dirty method to get an adjournment and/or file an answer by 9:30AM monday? I need more time.
The owner is seriously out to destroy me. This is no joke.

I need some advice.

????

Thanks a bunch.

I think you are getting this too late. But the best way to get an adjournment is to state that you want the help of an attorney and need time to find one.
