Can i go to a court date even though its my wifes name on the lease and her name is supposed to go to court.

You mean instead of her, not with her, right? This isn't a legal opinion, but I think you can in that spouses maintain tenancy rights (and probably obligations). Just in case though, come prepared with an excuse why she couldn't be there. if it's your first time on, it's common that the case will be adjourned.

Thanks for the help, I'm gonna go instead of her. This is just to show my paid rent receipts in response to a notice of petition.
