Warranty of Inhabitability

Postby inman » Thu Feb 06, 2003 2:19 am

My landlord recently filed in court for non-payment of rent. I have been trying to get compensation from him for water leaks in my apt. which has led to holes not being fixed. I went to court twice, first time to settle and second for the trial. Each time his attorney sought an adjournment because she was "too busy" to go though the numbers. My new hearing is coming up--so far I have not filed any document /Warranty of Inhabitability. I wasn't sure if I should do if after I present my case to the judge or before. I thought we would settle the case -- but it keeps getting postponed because of the lack of preperation on the LL's attorneys. Any advice about filing dox requesting an abatememnt would be appreciatedf

All these problems would be best documented by a licensed engineer - it keeps everyone honest - and makes your problems and claims legal. And there are probably more problems than you realize.
