roommate not paying rent

Postby ts2212 » Tue Feb 07, 2006 2:13 pm

My roommate refuses has not paid rent for the last 2 months and only my name is on the lease. The landlord will not help me kick him out. What do I need to do to get his rent and to kick him out?

Thanks

Look at the top of your browser. This is TENANT.net. We're not landlord.net. So this is not the place to get a lot of sympathy in kicking someone out.

That said, roommate situations are often difficult as we're presuyming you aren't a professional landlord. Search this forum for roommates or licensees, and you'll find discussions on the rights and obligations of prime tenants and roommates. In short, if you can't come to an agreement, your remedy is to go to court.

This has been discussed recently in forum. Just don't do any lock out. Only a court can evict...so now you have to follow legal proceedures.
