Guidelines on Putting Material into Evidence?

Postby NSW1 » Thu Apr 22, 2004 12:27 pm

Can someone please point me to a condensed source that reviews the procedure for putting documents/photos into evidence during a non-payment houisng court trial in Brooklyn?
In the past I’ve been refused while attempting to place photos & docs into evidence due to objections from LL’s attorney combined with a judge taking a very hard line and not cutting me any slack in regards to procedure. After a few failed attempts to enter the material into evidence with incorrect wording, the judge has not allowed the materials and demanded that I move on. Typically this has occurred with things such as photos of violations in my apartment and documents that are not certified by city agencies.
Thanks for the tips.

Get your HPD violations certified, and make HPD a party to the action.

Also, make use of the housing court clerk for questions about procedure;
It's been my experience that they are an invaluable source of information.

Thanks Lilly.
I went to HPD (Euclid Ave. in Brooklyn) and got certification copies of violations. Is there another method of getting HPD directly involved?
