Contempt motion-advice

Postby hannul » Tue Feb 08, 2005 3:23 pm

How successful are tenant contempt motions against the landlord? I need to file an OSC because the landlord is refusing to make a repair which the judge instructed. I spoke with their legal department and they informed me that they are refusing to do it. I thought maybe I could bring a contempt motion but someone I know indicated that she tried that in LLT court and she was yelled at by the judge. Does anyone have any experience with it? How often hav landlords been held in contempt for not making the appropriate repairs?

If you don't have an atty, go to the pro se office at your HC and let them help you file one.
Here's one case of contempt: http://tenant.net/Court/Hcourt/index.html?x=813
