Is ex being evicted?

Postby caught22 » Tue Feb 07, 2006 12:07 pm

Is there any official way to find out if someone is being evicted from their apt?
I am concerned about my kid being put on the street if my ex is evicted and she refuses to communicate with me.
I could ask the landlord but I have nothing to do with her apt. legally.
My question is do I have a legal right to find out the answer?

Thank you

You can go to the Housing Court clerk's office and look up your ex-wife's name in the computer to see if there is an active or recently concluded proceeding against her. From the court docket and file you could see if a judgment was entered against her and if a warrant was issued.

Thank you.
I shall give it a try.
Wasn't sure if that was public information or not.
