PETITION FROM ATTORNEY

Postby BabyiiSweet » Tue Jan 11, 2005 12:42 pm

I RECEIVED A PETION FROM AN ATTORNEY STATING MY LANDLORD IS PROCEEDING TO EVICT. HOWEVER, I SPOKE WITH MY LANDLORD AND SHE TOLD ME TO DISREGARD THE DISPOSSES. WHAT DO I DO? I HAVE NOTHING IN WRITING FROM MY LANDLORD. ALSO, I WAS INFORMED MY LANDLORD THAT I WOULD BE LEAVING THE APARTMENT AND SHE NEVER REMOVED MY NAME FROM THE LEASE.

1. Please type without using ALL CAPS (it's considered rude).

2. Do not ignore any dispossess notice, even if the LL says you can ignore it. It's an old trick as LLs hope you will ignore it until too late.

3. Show up in court with your defenses. See court information on our website. Until the court tells you it's discontinued or dismissed, do not drop the ball. The Court should give you written notice if it is dismissed or discontinued. If you have questions specific to your case, other tenants might be able to help you on this forum.
