Forum upgrade

Postby TenantNet » Wed Jan 16, 2008 9:56 pm

For those who follow such things, the base software for this forum, PhpBB has recently been upgraded. We're starting to look at issues surrounding an upgrade in that the TenantNet forum is heavily customized. If and when we upgrade, we would want it to -- at a minimum -- equal or exceed the functionality of the existing system. That means we'll most likely have to spend considerable time and effort to match the customization on the newer siftware, and will likely take some time.

In the meantime, if any user has any suggestions or desires you would like to see incorporated in any upgrade, send us an email at tenant -at- tenant.net or via Private Mail.

One thing that is supposed to be in the new version is the ability to create sub-forums. While we've tried to limit the number of top-level forums to keep things simple, it will likely be possible to create sub-forums on specific topics, i.e., roommate, sublets and other frequent issues. So suggestions along those lines would be helpful. We can't guarantee that every idea will be incorporated, but we'll consider suggestions.

BTW, this might take several months, so don't expect anything overnight.
