Is this legal? Constant Renovations in Rent Building on UES

Postby nyctenant1 » Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:05 am

I am getting so angry with my building. It seems that every 2 weeks they are renovating a nearby apt. with crazy drilling machines picking up the floors and rewiring everything. Obviously, this is due to the fact that it's a modern generic doorman building and they are charging way too much for rent and having a high turn over.

I have a baby and it's impossible for him to sleep during the renovation which is during the day during his naps. They say they have a right to renovate. I say I have a right to a peaceful environment for my child. I have made several complaints and would love to know if I have any legal recourse to terminate my lease?
