New Jersey - multidwelling. Jointly signed lease. My house mate is breaking the lease. I cannot remain in the apartment because it's too expensive. I must move and I will incur unexpected expenses for moving and paying a security deposit on a new place. This will put me in debt since I must borrow the money to pay these expenses.
Do I have legal grounds to sue my house mate for these expenses since he is the one breaking the lease? (I have gotten permission from the landlord to end this lease because of the situation.)
