Rental tenant damaged awning - is building insured?

I accidentally damaged the fabric canopy - long embarrassing story
I of course expect the management will send me a bill.

But I wonder - wouldn't they be covered by insurance?
And can I ask them to show me a copy of whatever claim they submit?

Would appreciate any thoughts.
