Nyc rental - good credit/bad credit

Postby Anna88_NYC » Sat Feb 23, 2019 9:11 am

I want to find an apartment with my boyfriend. We’d really like to move in with each other. We’re facing a weird situation. I make a decent salary of ($120K) but have pretty bad credit (580) that I’ve been working to improve. He makes about half as much ($60K) but has a great credit score (720). We’ll both be on the lease. Do you think my salary and his credit score is enough to let us rent an apartment without a guarantor? Thank you!

Honestly, I don't know. This site is really for tenants who are having problems with their landlords (like lack of heat/hot water, overcharges, harassment, etc.), not people seeking apartments. I'm sure there are sites that address the question you raise.
