: My roomate and I are not getting along, and both of our names are on the lease. If I move out, and give her the option of finding another roomate, if she doesn't am I still responsible for my share of the rent?

Chances are your lease makes both of you individually and severally liable. This means that if the roommate moves out, you are liable for the entire amount. The LL can choose to sue one or both on the lease. You can, of course, get another roommate even if the LL does not agree to put this new person on the lease. I'm not sure, but if you can't find another roommate,, after actually trying, you might be able to seek redress against the former roommate, but that's between you and the former roommate. Your individual and joint obligations to the LL are separate.
