HPD and DHCR have separate succession regulations for
Mitchell-Lama apartments. HPD supervises developments that have mortgages provided by the city, while DHCR supervises developments that have mortgages provided by the state. They are similar to the regulations for rent controlled and rent stabilized apartments. You can look at and copy the regulations at larger libraries, including the Municipal Reference Library on the ground floor of the Surrogates Court building on Chambers Street.

: I have been registared to succeed my grand mother in a michell lama co-op.
: I have notified the co-op managment and got the materials to transfer shares. How do they determine eligibility for living in the apartement?
: Are they biased toward letting you live there? Has anyone been throught this process before? Thanks in advance.
