I've rented from the same apartment for the past seven years with an annual rent increase of 6%. Then out of the blue, with a 30 day warning, my rent will increase 60%!!! I understand that I am neither rent contolled nor stabalized, but can the landlord increase a rent that dramatically after a seven yaer track record of 6%.
Thanks for any advice one may have for me.
