The Olympics comes to Sydney Australia and the landlords rejoice.
Rents are up and speculation is rife. If a tenant questions an
outrageous rent or rent increase, then the stock answer is now
"you better grab this quick 'cos it will all be worse when the olympics come."

What do they say about "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts"?

The politicians are impersonating ostriches (heads in sand) and do not want
to hear anything of the adverse effects of their sports party.

So what do tenants do? - ORGANISE!

In sydney we have an activist group called rentwatchers that is lobbying
around these issues.
