Our Building was sold.
We were notified by a letter slipped under our door Dec. 2
Dec. rent (due the 1st) was paid to the old landlord, who cashed the check.
Jan. rent was sent to the new landlord on Jan 1.
The new landlord returned our check to us saying we owed December rent as
well, and that he would not accept partial payment for rent.
Q: What proof do we have that title was transferred?
Q: What is proper notification of such a change to tenants?
Q: How can we be responsible for December's rent when notified *after*
the due date for the rent?
