You also run the risk of giving the landord the opportunity of denial of receipt of rent in the event s/he ever decided to get you out of the place. Simply because you have a lease doesn't guarantee anyone that you've kept paying your rent (if you don't have receipts. And hopefully you do. More so, hopefully you've saved EVERY one of them).
Chances are, your LL isn't reporting the income.
Keep utility bills and the likes to prove residency. Do get receipts for rent paid.
