I live in Wahington State. The incident that I am going to describe happened in Cashmere, WA.
We were going to move to Cashmere which is about 150 miles from where we live currently.
We sent the landlord of the house that we were going to rent $15.00 for the application
fee. He told us everything went through fine and that we could rent the house. We then
sent him $750.00 for part of the deposit. We had never signed anything. We found
out a week before we were supposed to move that my husbands job oppurtunity fell through.
We don't need to move anymore. We told him immediately. His wife told us that she
would not be giving us the $750.00 back and that they were having hard times. I just
want to know if we have a legal right to our money. Thanks.
