I live in Brooklyn in a building at least 100 years old with 4 units where the rents are completely unregulated.
I have lived there for 4 years without a lease having inherited the apartment as a roomate. Now that the rent is going
up 50% to $1100 I requested a lease, and was given a Blumberg # T 186 lease. Some of the clauses seem quite unfair
and possibly illegal, such as #10, #11, #15, #16. If I sign this lease am I agreeing to these terms or do laws and legal
decisions supercede these clauses? If these clauses are illegal why am I given a lease like this? Does anyone know
a site on the internet where I can research specific judgements about this lease? Thanks for the help.
