hi,

i am leasing a rent stabilized apartment in forest hills ny.
the building is managed by a management company.
the unit is on the first floor and my bedroom is almost directly
on top of the boiler room.
i am very troubled by the various loud mechanical noises (pumps,
motors constant whirring noises) coming from the boiler room and
the trash compactor especially at night.
i can feel the vibrations caused by the machinery when i place my
fingers on the walls.

is there anything i can do other than moving to another apartment
to remedy this situation ?
