thanks to all who responded to my posting.

this is a continuation of the message i posted yesterday.

in discussion with my roommates, we all came to the conclusion that not all of us can commit to another full year in the apartment.

does something like a month-to-month lease agreement exist?

we've been paying what the landlord wants as a rent increase since the lease ran out, sort of as an appeasement to him to let us stay. we also had a really big party recently, one that he had broken up by the police for no reason other than he wanted it gone. the party situation makes us nervous about approaching him with anything we think he won't like to hear.


thanks!!!
is it in our rights to say that we made a mistake to pay the increased rent as we did, and withhold rent in the future until the difference is made?
