First of all, many thanks to Mark Smith, BS Detector, Loud Rich and Anna
You all gave me good advice on my situation. I'm the one living in the illegal basement
apt., who's accused by her landlord of jacking up the electric
bill, blowing out fuses and not allowed to have her boyfriend sleep over.

Well my landlord still refuses to give me rent receipts (which I paid in
cash for my last 3 rents) I decided I want to move out it's
too stressful, although they haven't bothered me. I told them I was
living out my security for the month of Oct. and so now I'm looking around.
I did however file a complaint against them for renting an illegal apt.
hopefully that will cause them a pretty headache.
