We are M TO M Nassau County, L.I. tenants in an illegal (1 family illegally
converted to 2) with no lease, no heat at times, and a trashed walkway towards our apt. She just raised us $50 mo. We are moving during the middle of
the month. Our rent is due on the first. No security deposit ever
paid. The entrance to our apt is blocked with old junked cars with
no room for movers to do their job safely and efficiently. Landlord
states that if we don't pay rent in full for entire month she will
not move cars that will block the entire physical moving process.
What rights do we have and what can we do lawfully??? Thanks
